epiphone-riviera-sparkling-burgundy-w-bag
Epiphone Riviera Sparkling Burgundy w/bag

The Epiphone Riviera in Sparkling Burgundy combines the distinctive styling of Epiphone's original 1961 semi-hollowbody design with modern craftsmanship and versatile electronics. Known for its bright, articulate mini-humbucker tones and signature Frequensator tailpiece, the Riviera has remained a favorite among blues, rock, Britpop, and alternative musicians for decades. This refreshed model features a five-ply maple/poplar body with a solid maple center block, a set mahogany neck, and dual Epiphone PRO Mini Humbuckers. The deep Sparkling Burgundy gloss finish, nickel hardware, and classic parallelogram inlays give the guitar a striking vintage-inspired appearance.

The layered maple/poplar body provides the open resonance associated with semi-hollow electric guitars, while a solid maple center block enhances sustain and helps reduce unwanted feedback at higher volumes. This construction gives the Riviera a versatile response that works equally well for clean rhythm playing, expressive blues leads, and driven rock tones. The traditional double-cutaway body features f-holes and single-ply binding around the top and back, preserving the elegant proportions of the original design. The Sparkling Burgundy finish adds depth and character to the instrument, complemented by nickel hardware and contrasting white plastic appointments.

The mahogany neck features a glued-in set-neck joint and a comfortable Rounded C profile, offering a familiar feel for a wide range of playing styles. A bound rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface with a 12" radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, and distinctive pearloid parallelogram inlays. The 24.75" scale length offers comfortable string tension for chord work, bends, and vibrato. A Graph Tech nut and Epiphone Vintage Deluxe tuning machines with metal buttons provide dependable tuning performance. The traditional sloped dovewing headstock features a mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo and 1960s-style oval inlay, while the crescent-shaped truss rod cover and three-ply pickguard carry the familiar Epiphone “E” emblem.

Two Epiphone PRO Mini Humbuckers provide the Riviera with its characteristic tonal balance of clarity, articulation, and hum-canceling performance. Their focused response offers a brighter character than traditional full-size humbuckers, allowing individual notes to remain distinct within complex chords and overdriven passages. The neck pickup produces smooth, rounded tones with excellent definition, while the bridge pickup provides a cutting attack suited to rock rhythms and expressive lead playing. Dedicated volume and tone controls for each pickup, equipped with CTS potentiometers, allow players to shape their sound with precision. A three-way toggle switch provides the familiar neck, bridge, and combined pickup settings.

The Riviera Sparkling Burgundy features a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and the model's signature Frequensator tailpiece, a defining element of its vintage design. The bridge allows precise intonation adjustment, while the Frequensator tailpiece uses different string lengths behind the bridge to help balance string tension across the instrument. Nickel pickup covers, black top hat knobs with silver inserts, and white plastic appointments complement the rich burgundy finish. With its combination of semi-hollow resonance, articulate mini-humbucker pickups, and distinctive Riviera hardware, this guitar offers a classic alternative to conventional ES-style instruments. A premium gig bag is included for protection and
