Part of Taylor's next generation of Builder's Edition instruments, this model features scalloped V-Class bracing, the Action Control Neck, and Claria electronics, along with carefully sculpted body contours designed for exceptional playing comfort. A shaded edgeburst top, Kona Burst back and sides, and refined abalone appointments complete an instrument that combines distinctive tonewoods with modern Taylor craftsmanship.

The Western red cedar top responds readily to a lighter touch, producing a warm, expressive voice with a smooth attack and detailed harmonic character. Paired with walnut back and sides, it gains a substantial midrange, focused low end, and enough top-end clarity to maintain definition across complex chord voicings and melodic passages. This combination is particularly well suited to fingerstyle playing and musicians who favor a nuanced, dynamic approach. Taylor's scalloped V-Class bracing enhances volume, sustain, and overall responsiveness, allowing the Grand Auditorium body to deliver a balanced acoustic voice with excellent sensitivity to the player's touch.

The mahogany Action Control Neck provides the comfort and adjustability of Taylor's latest neck design, allowing convenient action adjustments to accommodate individual playing preferences. Its satin finish offers a smooth feel, while the 25.5" scale length and 1 3/4" nut width provide familiar Taylor string spacing and tension. A Crelicam ebony fingerboard features elegant Reflections inlays crafted from pale green abalone, adding a distinctive visual element without overwhelming the instrument's natural wood aesthetic. Ebony fingerboard binding and a black TUSQ nut complete the playing surface, while the beveled cutaway provides comfortable access to the upper register.

The Builder's Edition body contours are designed to make extended playing sessions more comfortable. Chamfered body edges soften the instrument's outline, while a beveled mahogany armrest creates a smooth contact point for the picking arm. The beveled cutaway follows the body's contours and provides a comfortable transition into the higher frets. Black, maple, and paua purfling outlines the top and back, complemented by a green abalone rosette and matching Reflections inlays on the fingerboard and peghead. The full-gloss body finish highlights the walnut grain and the warm coloration of the cedar top, with a shaded edgeburst across the soundboard and Kona Burst on the back, sides, and neck.

Taylor's Claria electronics system provides integrated amplification for live performance and recording, complementing the guitar's naturally responsive acoustic voice. Gold Taylor tuning machines, a white Micarta saddle, and D'Addario XS coated phosphor bronze light strings complete the hardware package. With its expressive cedar and walnut tonewood combination, refined Builder's Edition contours, and distinctive appointments, the Next Generation Builder's Edition 714ce LTD offers a particularly compelling option for fingerstyle players and musicians seeking a warm, articulate acoustic-electric. A brown Taylor Deluxe hardshell case is included for protection and
