As a co-founder of the boutique amp movement and the architect behind some of the most revered amp designs in modern history, Sampson approached the Black Cat with a careful hand: refining what mattered, leaving what worked, and shaping a bigger, bolder voice from an already award-winning platform.

Designed and built in Costa Mesa, California, this limited-edition Black Cat blends classic Bad Cat chime and responsiveness with expanded authority and depth. It delivers articulate cleans, rich harmonic complexity, and muscular drive, all supported by studio-quality reverb, bias-modulated tremolo, and a buffered effects loop. This is a handcrafted amplifier built for players who appreciate circuit-level refinement and uncompromising tone.
