This Collings OM2H takes one of the most respected modern orchestra-model acoustics and gives it a striking twist — a jet-black top paired with a black pickguard. Underneath the finish, it’s the same powerhouse OM formula Collings is famous for: Adirondack-voiced bracing, impeccably voiced Sitka spruce, East Indian rosewood back and sides, and that unmistakable Collings clarity, shimmer, and dynamic headroom.
The 1 3/4" nut width makes this one especially comfortable for fingerstyle players and flatpickers who like a little extra breathing room. It’s articulate, balanced, responsive, and tight in the low end in a way only Collings does. The black-top aesthetic pushes this build just enough into the “something special” category without changing what makes the OM2H so beloved — clean lines, big presence, and a tone that cuts through a mix while still sounding warm and nuanced on its own.
