The Gibson Custom Dealer Select Explorer Custom is a Tone Shop Guitars exclusive, designed by our team to bring Custom-level appointments and a bold vintage-inspired finish to one of Gibson’s most iconic body shapes. This build takes the aggressive Explorer platform and elevates it with an AAA figured 2-piece maple top, multi-ply binding, ebony fingerboard, gold hardware, and a gloss Lemon Burst finish.

Built with a mahogany body and AAA figured maple top, this Explorer Custom delivers the strong midrange punch, sustain, and authority players expect from the platform, with added visual depth and attack from the maple cap. The Lemon Burst finish highlights the figure in the top while giving this Dealer Select a distinct look that still feels right at home in the Gibson Custom world.

The 1-piece mahogany neck features a 1950s Chunky D profile measuring .900" at the 1st fret and 1.000" at the 12th, giving the guitar a substantial, vintage-inspired feel in the hand. Paired with an ebony fingerboard, full block inlays, and a white Corian nut, the neck side of the build feels every bit as premium as the body.

Electronics are handled by a ’57 Classic in the neck and a ’57 Classic Plus in the bridge, giving this Explorer a vintage humbucker foundation with a little extra push from the bridge position. The neck pickup stays warm and smooth, while the bridge delivers the bite, clarity, and output needed for rock tones without losing the character that makes great Gibson humbuckers so musical.

Finished with gold hardware, an ABR-1 bridge with brass saddles, stopbar tailpiece, Grover kidney-button tuners, black speed knobs, and a multi-ply mounted pickguard, this is a serious Custom Shop Explorer built to stand out.
