Powered by two genuine high-voltage 12AX7 preamp tubes, the IR-X delivers authentic tube dynamics, harmonic richness, and touch sensitivity while combining modern cabinet simulation, direct recording capabilities, and extensive MIDI control. Whether you're running direct to front-of-house, recording into a DAW, or integrating it into a traditional amp rig, the IR-X provides studio-quality Friedman tone without compromise.

Two completely independent channels cover everything from articulate cleans and edge-of-breakup tones to the aggressive high-gain voice Friedman amplifiers are famous for. Channel 1 is voiced for clean through gritty overdrive, while Channel 2 delivers the thick, saturated distortion that has become synonymous with Dave Friedman's designs. Independent Gain, Volume, and three-band EQ controls for each channel allow you to dial in the perfect sound, while dedicated Bright and Tight switches provide additional tonal shaping.

The onboard DSP-powered impulse response section delivers low-latency cabinet and power amp simulation with three selectable IRs per channel. Choose from twelve included Friedman cabinet IRs or load your own using the Synergy-powered software editor. Additional features such as a transparent series effects loop, balanced TRS direct output, headphone output, MIDI connectivity, USB editing, and programmable boost functions make the IR-X equally at home on stage, in the studio, or as the centerpiece of a silent practice rig.
