This Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue brings the most celebrated Les Paul year into a detailed Murphy Lab Heavy Aged build. Finished in Golden Poppy Burst, this example captures the look, feel, and character of a well-played vintage-style ’59 without stepping away from the precision and consistency of Gibson Custom.

The body pairs a 2-piece figured maple top with a 1-piece lightweight mahogany back, built with no weight relief for the full Historic Reissue experience. The Golden Poppy Burst finish has a warm, classic look that works beautifully with the Heavy Aged Murphy Lab treatment, giving the guitar the broken-in feel and worn-in visual character of an instrument that has seen decades of serious use.

The neck is built from solid mahogany with a 50s Rounded Medium C profile, long tenon hide glue fit, nylon nut, and Indian rosewood fingerboard. The 24.75" scale length, 12" fingerboard radius, Authentic Medium-Jumbo frets, and cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays keep the playing feel rooted firmly in the Historic Reissue world.

Electronics are built around a pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups, paired with CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors. The setup keeps the guitar dynamic and expressive, with the open, woody, vintage-style response players expect from a great ’59-style Les Paul.
