This Martin Custom Shop 45 Style Dreadnought was designed by Tone Shop Guitars, with the woods selected by our team for this build. It starts with an Adirondack spruce top and premium Cocobolo back and sides, then pushes well beyond a traditional 45-style appointment package with a continuous Tree of Life inlay running across the fingerboard, headplate, bridge, and pickguard.

The Adirondack spruce top gives this dreadnought the headroom, clarity, and projection expected from a high-level Custom Shop build, while the Cocobolo back and sides bring visual depth, strong low end, and rich overtone detail. Forward-shifted Adirondack scalloped X-bracing with Golden Era hand shaping keeps the guitar responsive and open without giving up the power players expect from a rosewood-family dreadnought.

The continuous Tree of Life work is the centerpiece here. Select abalone flows across the black ebony fingerboard, Cocobolo headplate, black pickguard, and ebony bridge, tying the entire guitar together in a way that feels deliberate rather than decorative. Style 45 pearl trim, a Style 45 Boltaron rosette, Style 45 mosaic back purfling, antique white binding, and gold Grover StaTite tuners complete the build.

The 12/4 genuine mahogany neck features a GE Modified Low Oval profile with High Performance Taper, paired with a 1 3/4" nut width, 25.4" scale length, and 2 5/32" string spacing. It is an exceptional Custom Shop dreadnought with rare woods, serious visual detail, and a Tone Shop-designed spec that will stand apart immediately.
