Seventy-five years. That's how long the Telecaster has been shaping the sound of popular music — from Nashville honky-tonks to stadium stages, country sessions to post-punk records and everything in between. No other electric guitar has maintained that kind of cultural relevance for that long, and Fender is marking the milestone the right way: with five limited-edition 75th Anniversary Telecasters that span the full range of what this guitar can be.
From the flagship American Ultra II in Liquid Gold to a dead-on vintage recreation of the original 1951 design, this collection has something for every kind of Tele player. We've got all five in at Tone Shop — here's a full breakdown of each model so you know exactly what you're looking at.
American Ultra II Telecaster — Liquid Gold
The Flagship
If there's one guitar in this collection that's going to stop people in their tracks, it's this one. The Liquid Gold finish is unlike anything Fender has done before — a deep, lustrous metallic that shifts and catches light in a way that photographs can't fully capture. You need to see it in person. It's simultaneously bold and sophisticated, and it makes a statement on any stage.
But the Ultra II isn't just a pretty guitar — it's Fender's most spec'd-out production Telecaster. The quartersawn maple neck has a Modern "D" profile with an Ultra Satin finish and an ebony fingerboard with a 10"–14" compound radius, rolled edges, medium jumbo frets, custom lap steel inlays, and Luminlay® side dots. The tapered neck heel and sculpted body contours open up the upper register in a way that standard Teles simply don't.
Under the hood: a 75th Anniversary Noiseless Single-Coil in the neck pairs with a 75th Anniversary Fastlane™ humbucker at the bridge. That combination gives you crystalline cleans, classic Tele twang, and thick bridge humbucker growl — all hum-free. Then Fender added dual S-1™ switches: one puts both pickups in series for even more output and character, the second toggles the humbucker between series and parallel modes. The tonal range here is genuinely impressive.
Rounding out the package: 6-saddle string-through bridge with chromed brass saddles, Deluxe locking tuners, knurled aluminum knobs, and a 1-ply anodized aluminum pickguard. Ships in a Deluxe Molded Case. This is the one for players who want the absolute best Telecaster Fender makes, wrapped in a finish that marks the occasion.
American Professional Custom Telecaster — 2-Color Sunburst
The Uptown Classic
If the Ultra II is about pushing forward, the American Professional Custom is about refinement. This is Fender's take on the classic Custom Telecaster format — an alder body with a flame maple top finished in a stunning 2-Color Sunburst that shows off the figuring beautifully. The double-bound body adds a layer of elegance you don't often see on a production Tele, and the gold hardware throughout ties the whole look together.
The neck is maple with a Deep "C" profile — a touch fuller than the Modern "C" on the Cabronita, with a Super-Natural satin finish on the back and gloss on the headstock face. The 9.5" radius maple fingerboard and medium jumbo frets give it the smooth, fast feel of the American Professional line. Pickups are 75th Anniversary V-Mod II Single-Coils in both positions, delivering that classic Tele snap and warmth. A push-push tone pot puts both pickups in series for enhanced output and a thicker, more mid-forward tone when you need it.
Vintage-style compensated 3-saddle bridge, locking gold tuners, and a 3-ply mint green pickguard complete the package. This is the Telecaster for players who want something that looks like it belongs under a spotlight — and sounds like it too. Ships in a Deluxe Molded Case.
American Professional Classic Cabronita Telecaster
The Wildcard
The Cabronita is the curveball of this collection — and a welcome one. It wears the Telecaster body shape but swaps the traditional single-coils for a pair of TV Jones® Filter'Tron™ Classic pickups in both neck and bridge positions. If you've never played through Filter'Trons, they sit somewhere between a PAF humbucker and a traditional single-coil: thick and full with a snappy top end and serious punch. They're famously associated with Gretsch guitars, and dropping them into a Tele body creates something genuinely unique.
Built on an alder body with a Modern "C" maple neck and 9.5" radius maple fingerboard — fast and comfortable. The controls are intentionally simple: master volume only via a 3-position toggle, keeping the signal path clean and the focus squarely on the pickups. Pearloid button tuners and a 6-saddle vintage-style strings-through hardtail with polished block steel saddles round out a guitar that balances old-school aesthetics with modern playability.
Available in Candy Apple Red and Ice Blue Metallic — two of Fender's most iconic finishes. If you're a Tele player looking for more body and a different tonal character than the standard pickup configurations, the Cabronita is the one to try. Ships with a Deluxe Gig Bag.
Vintera Road Worn 1951 Telecaster — Butterscotch Blonde
The Vintage Purist
If any guitar in this collection deserves to mark the Telecaster's 75th birthday, it's this one. The Road Worn 1951 Telecaster is a direct callback to where it all started — a swamp ash body with a Road Worn nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Butterscotch Blonde, aged and worn to look and feel like a guitar that's been gigged hard for decades. There's something deeply satisfying about picking up a guitar that already has that broken-in character.
The neck is an Early-'50s "U" shape — thick-shouldered and substantial, the way vintage Fenders actually feel in your hand. The 7.25" radius maple fingerboard and vintage-tall frets play just like the originals, with that slightly rounder feel underhand that players often discover they love once they try it. Under the hood: Pure Vintage '51 Single-Coil pickups in both positions, delivering the crystal-clear chime and raw, steely twang that put Fender on the map in the first place.
The vintage-style 3-saddle bridge with brass barrel saddles, 1-ply black pickguard, and vintage-style tuning machines keep everything period-correct. This is the guitar for players who want the real thing — the look, the feel, and the sound of a 1951 Telecaster — without the five-figure price tag of an actual vintage example. Ships in a Hardshell Case.
Player II Telecaster — Diamond Dust Sparkle
The Standout
The Player II rounds out the collection as the most accessible entry point — but don't let that undersell it. The Diamond Dust Sparkle finish is a genuine showstopper, and paired with a 4-ply aged white pearl pickguard and chrome hardware, this guitar has serious stage presence at a player-friendly price point.
Built on an alder body with a Modern "C" maple neck and a 9.5" radius slab rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges and medium jumbo frets — comfortable and fast. The 75th Anniversary Thunderbolt™ Telecaster pickups are purpose-built for this model, delivering rich, powerful tones with enhanced clarity and punch that go well beyond what a standard Player II typically offers. A 6-saddle string-through-body bridge with block steel saddles and ClassicGear tuning machines keep everything solid and reliable night after night.
This is the guitar for the player who wants something that looks and sounds special without the premium price of the American-made models. Worth noting: it's the only guitar in the collection that doesn't include a case, so factor that in. But if you're after a Tele that turns heads and plays great out of the box, the Diamond Dust Player II delivers exactly that.
"Immerse yourself in the legacy of the Telecaster and own a piece of Fender history with the 75th Anniversary Telecaster Collection."
