Taylor Guitars is coming to Tone Shop Guitars Addison, and they're bringing the most significant update to their acoustic lineup in years. On Thursday, April 2nd at 6:30 PM, we're hosting Taylor's New Model Tone Show — a guided, hands-on acoustic tone-tasting event where you'll hear exactly what has changed, why it matters, and how it sounds in your hands.

A Taylor factory expert will lead the presentation, walking through the Next-Generation Grand Auditorium updates and the Gold Label Collection — two distinct directions that together represent where Taylor is taking acoustic guitar design in 2026. This isn't a sales pitch. It's a listening session — and then the floor is yours.

"A Taylor factory expert will guide you through a hands-on tone-tasting experience — hear how Taylor's latest innovations have redefined what a Taylor guitar can sound like."

Next-Generation Standard & Builder's Edition

Taylor's flagship Grand Auditorium just got its most meaningful upgrade in years. The Next-Generation models — rolling out across the Standard and Builder's Edition lines — introduce three innovations that work together to transform how these guitars feel, sound, and perform live.

The Scalloped V-Class bracing refines Taylor's award-winning V-Class platform by removing material from key brace locations, allowing the top to move more freely. The result is enhanced low-end response and a warmer, fuller sound — while preserving the pitch accuracy, projection, and sustain that V-Class players already rely on.

Working in harmony with the bracing is the new Action Control Neck — a long-tenon neck joint that improves coupling between the neck and body for greater warmth and resonance, plus a patented system that lets you adjust string height through the soundhole with a simple quarter-inch bolt turn. No saddle sanding. No neck removal. Just dial it in and play.

Finally, the new Claria pickup system replaces the Expression System 2 with a redesigned under-saddle piezo paired with a proprietary onboard preamp. Soundhole-mounted Volume, Mid-Contour, and Tone controls make it easy to get great amplified tone in any setting — and Taylor says it eliminates the harshness that has long been the knock on piezo pickups. If you've ever plugged in a Taylor and wanted more, the Claria is worth hearing.

Next-Generation Builder's Edition

The Builder's Edition has always been Taylor's showcase for premium craftsmanship and player-focused design — beveled armrests, chamfered body edges, and elevated tonewoods built around the idea that the guitar should disappear in your hands. The Next-Generation update brings all three new innovations to the Builder's Edition as well: Scalloped V-Class bracing, the Action Control Neck, and the Claria system.

The combination of scalloped bracing and a long-tenon neck joint is especially compelling on the Builder's Edition, where the tonal refinements compound the already exceptional playability these guitars are known for. The Tone Show is a rare chance to hear several Builder's Edition models back to back — a comparison that's hard to replicate anywhere else.

Gold Label Collection

Introduced at NAMM 2025, Taylor's Gold Label Collection set out to do something Taylor had never done before: build a guitar with a warm, heritage-inspired voice drawn from the classic flat-top acoustics of the 1930s and '40s — while keeping the playability and reliability modern players expect. In 2026, the collection continues to expand with new body styles and series levels, and the Tone Show is a great opportunity to hear where it's landed.

The Gold Label sound comes from three innovations working together. New body shapes — the deeper-bodied Grand Pacific and the Super Auditorium — give these guitars more physical lung capacity than a standard Taylor. Fanned V-Class bracing (distinct from the Scalloped V-Class on the Next-Gen models) adds midrange richness and sonic depth while retaining V-Class pitch accuracy. And the Action Control Neck — the same long-tenon design that debuted on Gold Label before coming to the Next-Gen line — enhances resonance while letting you dial in string height effortlessly through the soundhole.

The result is a Taylor that surprises people who think they already know what Taylor sounds like. Richer, warmer, and more complex in the midrange — these are guitars built for players who want something different from the high-definition articulation of a standard Grand Auditorium.
