The Gibson Custom Hummingbird Elegant Koa Honey Burst offers a refined Artisan Series interpretation of one of Gibson’s most recognizable acoustic guitars. Built around the legendary square-shouldered Hummingbird body, this premium model pairs a AAA Sitka spruce top with beautifully figured koa back and sides, creating an instrument with striking visual character and a lively, articulate acoustic voice. Koa brings sparkling high-end clarity while developing additional warmth and complexity with regular playing, and a three-rope marquetry strip running down the center of the back adds another elegant visual detail. 

A mahogany neck with a comfortable Round profile joins a bound rosewood fingerboard outfitted with 20 standard frets and abalone split-parallelogram inlays. The premium detailing continues to the headstock, where the Gibson logo and crown are rendered in abalone and paired with gold-plated Grover Rotomatic tuners. Its 24.75" scale length provides the familiar feel and response that has helped make the Hummingbird a favorite among singers, songwriters, and rhythm players for generations.

Gibson gives this Elegant Koa model an especially ornate treatment of the Hummingbird’s signature appointments. The rosewood belly-up bridge features abalone dot inlays, while the iconic pickguard incorporates the traditional hummingbird, butterfly, and floral imagery in a tortoiseshell-colored design accented with gold and silver foil for an iridescent appearance that shifts under changing light.

For stage and studio work, the Hummingbird Elegant Koa comes factory-equipped with L.R. Baggs VTC electronics, featuring an undersaddle Element pickup, internal preamp, and discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls. A Gibson Custom hardshell case is included.
