This Collings CL City Limits takes the already refined CL platform and adds a custom spec set that gives it a serious vintage-inspired personality. Finished in custom Brock Burst over a premium flamed maple top, this guitar has the depth, movement, and old-school burst character that makes a great single-cut feel immediately special.
The CL body pairs Honduran mahogany with a premium flamed maple top, built around Collings’ clean, resonant solidbody design. The body shape keeps the familiar power and sustain of a carved-top single-cut while adding the balance, comfort, and precision Collings is known for.
The custom ThroBak Custom ER MXV pickups are a major part of this build. Paired with 50s-style wiring, CTS 500K pots, and Jupiter Vintage Yellow capacitors, they give the guitar a clear, dynamic humbucker voice with the feel and response players want from a higher-end vintage-leaning build.
The Honduran mahogany neck features a rosewood fingerboard, 12" radius, 24 7/8" scale length, and Collings’ extra-long mortise and tenon neck joint. Parallelogram fingerboard inlays and a matching peghead inlay push this one beyond standard CL appointments while keeping the overall look classic.
Nickel hardware, a Kluson ABR-1 bridge, Kluson Stop Tailpiece, Gotoh tuners with Collings logo, high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, and deluxe hardshell case complete the build.
