About This Guitar

The Collings D2H Traditional takes the classic Sitka spruce and East Indian rosewood dreadnought formula and builds it around Collings’ vintage-inspired Traditional Series construction and voicing.

The Sitka spruce top is paired with East Indian rosewood back and sides and a custom Traditional Series pre-war scalloped X-brace pattern. Compared with the standard D2H, the Traditional build is designed for a slightly looser, more open feel with a rounder top end and fuller low midrange while retaining the projection and quick response Collings is known for.

Traditional Series appointments give this D2H its own look as well, with small brown herringbone top purfling, ivoroid body binding, a custom wood rosette, Style 2 zipper backstrip, and gold mother-of-pearl long diamond and square fingerboard inlays.

The Honduran mahogany neck features Collings’ Traditional profile, a 1 3/4" bone nut, 25 1/2" scale length, and ebony fingerboard with a 14"-26" compound radius. An ebony belly-style bridge with wider 2 5/16" string spacing and cutthrough bone saddle complete the vintage-inspired setup.

Nickel Waverly tuners, a tortoise pickguard, and Collings’ ultra-thin high-gloss nitrocellulose body finish round out the package. A deluxe hardshell case is included.
