Built around a solid Honduran mahogany body and neck, this Collings 290 keeps the formula straightforward: two P90s, a single-cutaway body, and a lightweight build that comes in at just 7 lb 5.5 oz.

This example gets a few particularly cool appointments, pairing its high-gloss Jet Black nitrocellulose finish with a tortoise pickguard and a MojoAxe CWT wraparound bridge. The result is a stripped-down look that fits the 290 perfectly.

A pair of Lollar P90s handles the electronics, wired with CTS 500K pots, Jupiter Vintage Yellow capacitors, and 50s-style wiring. The solid mahogany construction and simple P90 setup give the 290 plenty of range without overcomplicating the controls.

The Honduran mahogany neck joins the body with Collings’ extra-long mortise-and-tenon joint and is paired with a rosewood fingerboard, 12" radius, 24 7/8" scale length, and medium nickel-silver frets. Nickel Gotoh tuners with the Collings logo complete the hardware package.

A deluxe hardshell case is included.
