The Collings DS2 A HC Hill Country brings Collings’ 12-fret dreadnought platform into a warmer, woodier, more fundamental-forward voice. This example features a sunburst Adirondack spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, HC build and appointments, and the dry, full response that defines the Hill Country series.

The Hill Country series sits apart from the standard Collings acoustic voice, with a looser, more old-school feel and a strong fundamental character. It still has the precision and consistency Collings is known for, but with a warmer attack, rounder response, and the kind of dry, woody low end that feels especially at home for flatpicking, vocal accompaniment, and roots-driven playing.

The 12-fret dreadnought body adds depth, warmth, and power, while the Adirondack spruce top gives the guitar headroom and dynamic range. Paired with East Indian rosewood back and sides, this DS2 A HC has a bigger overtone profile than the mahogany-backed DS1 A HC, with strong projection, complex sustain, and a rich low end that still stays focused.
