About This Guitar

This custom Collings OM takes the refined foundation of the OM3 and pushes it into much more elaborate territory with cocobolo back and sides, a 42-style abalone top border, and a full Tree of Life fingerboard inlay. Paired with a Sitka spruce top, it combines one of Collings’ most versatile body shapes with a striking set of woods and appointments.

The Sitka spruce top is paired with cocobolo back and sides in place of the OM3’s standard East Indian rosewood. Cocobolo is a dense rosewood prized for strong projection, powerful low end, crisp treble response, and a complex harmonic character. Collings’ pre-war scalloped X-bracing and compact OM dimensions keep the platform balanced and responsive.

The Honduran mahogany neck uses Collings’ Modified V profile with a 25 1/2" scale length and upgraded 1 3/4" bone nut. An ebony fingerboard carries the standout Tree of Life inlay, while ivoroid binding extends across the body, fingerboard, and peghead.

The 42-style abalone top border adds a substantial visual upgrade beyond the standard OM3 trim, complementing the model’s abalone rosette. A stained exotic ebony peghead veneer with mother-of-pearl Collings logo, 3-style chevron backstrip, and gold Waverly tuners complete the presentation.

An ebony belly-style bridge with 2 3/16" string spacing, bone drop-in saddle, and ebony bridge pins with abalone dots complete the build. A Collings deluxe OM hardshell case is included.
