This Gibson Custom Dealer Select 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue takes the legendary ’59 Les Paul platform and gives it a custom Tone Shop-spec’d twist with a chambered mahogany body, Golden Poppy finish, and Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged treatment. It keeps the core feel and vintage-inspired voice of a Gibson Custom Historic Reissue while adding a more open, resonant chambered build and a standout custom finish.

The body pairs a figured maple top with a chambered mahogany back, giving the guitar classic Les Paul attack and visual depth with a livelier acoustic response. The Golden Poppy finish brings a warm, bold look to the top, while the Ultra Light Aged Murphy Lab treatment adds subtle wear and lightly aged hardware for a broken-in feel without pushing the guitar into heavily worn territory.

The solid mahogany neck features Gibson Custom’s 50s Rounded Medium C profile, long tenon hide glue fit, nylon nut, and Indian rosewood fingerboard with cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays. The 24.75" scale length, 12" fingerboard radius, and Historic Medium-Jumbo frets keep the feel rooted in the late-’50s Les Paul experience.

Electronics are built around a pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups, paired with CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors. The result is open, dynamic, and touch-sensitive, with the vintage-style response that makes these Custom Shop ’59s so versatile across clean, edge-of-breakup, and driven tones.

Hardware includes an ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum stop bar tailpiece, Kluson single line/single ring tuners, nickel hardware, gold butyrate top hat knobs, and vintage-correct style plastics. It includes a Brown/Pink Lifton Reissue 5-Latch case and Certificate of Authenticity.
