This Gibson Custom Dealer Select 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue was spec’d with a handpicked AAA maple top, mahogany body, Tejas Burst finish, and Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged treatment. It takes the classic ’59 Les Paul platform and adds a custom Tone Shop-selected top and a finish that gives the guitar a bold Dealer Select look without losing the vintage-inspired feel of a Historic Reissue.

The handpicked AAA maple top is the centerpiece of this build. Chosen by Tone Shop Guitars, it gives this Les Paul strong visual movement and depth under the Tejas Burst finish. The Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged treatment adds light playwear and lightly aged hardware, giving the guitar a broken-in feel while keeping the overall look clean. It feels familiar right away, with just enough aging to take the edge off a brand-new Custom Shop guitar.

The solid mahogany neck features Gibson Custom’s 50s Rounded Medium C profile, long tenon hide glue fit, nylon nut, and Indian rosewood fingerboard with cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays. The 24.75" scale length, 12" fingerboard radius, and Historic Medium-Jumbo frets keep the feel rooted in the late-’50s Les Paul experience.

Electronics are built around a pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups, paired with CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors. The setup is open, dynamic, and touch-sensitive, with the vintage-style response players expect from a great Custom Shop ’59.
