This CJ is one of the most unusual—and most explosive—acoustic builds you’ll ever find from Collings. Instead of the traditional rosewood or mahogany back and sides, this custom CJ features torrefied bubble maple, a tonewood rarely seen on a slope-shoulder jumbo. Combined with an Old-Growth Sitka spruce top, the result is startling volume, fast response, and a clarity that cuts without ever turning harsh. Players who have tried this guitar in the shop all land on the same reaction: it is unbelievably loud.

The Old-Growth Sitka top gives the guitar huge dynamic range and a warm, broken-in feel right out of the case. The torrefied maple back and sides add focus, articulation, and projection that far exceed a standard maple build.
