Born from the ongoing collaboration between EarthQuaker Devices and legendary drone-metal pioneers Sunn O))), the HalfLife Octave Distortion + Booster delivers the crushing tones of the acclaimed Life Pedal series in the most compact and pedalboard-friendly format yet. While it may be half the size of its predecessors, the HalfLife sacrifices none of the massive sonic character that made the original circuit a modern classic.

At its core, the HalfLife combines a modified White Face-style distortion circuit, a blendable all-analog octave-up effect, and a powerful independent booster into one versatile stompbox. The distortion section offers three distinct clipping modes, ranging from raw, unrestricted op-amp saturation to smooth, amp-like asymmetrical clipping and the classic symmetrical silicon diode crunch. With up to +60dB of gain available, the HalfLife is capable of everything from gritty overdrive to devastating walls of fuzz.

The analog octave circuit sits at the front of the signal chain, allowing players to blend in octave textures for everything from subtle harmonic enhancement to wild Super Fuzz-style mayhem. An expression pedal input provides hands-free octave control for dynamic swells and evolving textures during performance. Independent footswitches for the distortion and boost sections provide maximum flexibility, while EarthQuaker's Flexi-Switch® technology allows both momentary and traditional latching operation.

Designed and built in Akron, Ohio, the Sunn O))) HalfLife delivers monumental tones in a compact enclosure ready for any pedalboard.
