Fender '62 Deluxe Amp

The Fender ’62 Super sits in the short but important brown-panel era between the rawer tweed amps of the 1950s and the cleaner black-panel designs that followed. It has a warm, woody clean voice that starts to bloom into sweet overdrive as you turn it up, with enough power and definition for recording, rehearsal, and the stage.

Two 6L6 output tubes push 40 watts through a pair of 10" Celestion Custom Design speakers, giving the amp a full, balanced response with plenty of punch. It stays clear at usable volume, but has the natural compression and breakup players want from a great early-’60s Fender circuit.

The real calling card is its phase-shifting harmonic tremolo. It is deeper and more dimensional than a standard bias tremolo, adding movement without getting in the way of the guitar’s natural voice. Finished in ’60s brown Nubtex covering with aged wheat grille cloth, the ’62 Super looks every bit as good as it sounds.
