The Fender American Vintage II 1972 Telecaster Thinline captures the feel and tone of the second-generation Thinline models that first hit full production in 1972. Built with a semi-hollow ash body and the distinctive pearloid pickguard layout, this version brings the classic Thinline look together with the thicker, punchier voice of Fender’s original Wide-Range humbuckers.

To recreate the authentic Wide-Range sound, Fender brought back CuNiFe magnets, an essential part of the original pickup design. With a 1972 “C”-shape maple neck, vintage-style 7.25" radius, vintage tall frets, and period-correct hardware including a 3-bolt Micro-Tilt neck plate and bullet truss rod, this model stays true to the era while delivering the playability and resonance that made these Thinlines so popular.
