Built to capture the elegance and edge of a vintage-era Tele with modern playability, the Fender Custom Shop '60 Telecaster Custom in Journeyman Relic Black is a stunning representation of Fender’s golden-age craftsmanship.
This two-piece sorted ash body features double-bound edges in parchment white, wrapped in a beautifully aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The Journeyman Relic treatment offers subtle wear—light checking, finish sinking, and minor hardware aging—for that gently loved feel, without going full relic.
The neck is a standout: a flame AAA maple neck with a flat-lam rosewood fingerboard, shaped in a 1960-style “Oval C” carve for effortless play. The 9.5" radius and 21 narrow tall (6105) frets deliver a modern performance surface while staying true to the guitar’s roots.
Under the hood, this Tele is loaded with hand-wound '51 Nocaster pickups in both the neck and bridge positions, voiced for punchy low end, articulate highs, and plenty of Tele twang. The ’63 Tele wiring ensures smooth taper and tonal versatility through traditional controls.
A black 3-ply pickguard, vintage-style Tele bridge, and relic’d chrome hardware round out the look, all housed in a brown FCS Strat/Tele case.
