The Fender Custom Shop Postmodern Precision Bass DLX Closet Classic combines a two-piece select ash Precision Bass body with a P/J pickup configuration and modernized playing specifications. Its Ebony Transparent nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the ash grain to remain visible, while the Closet Classic aging treatment gives the instrument the appearance of a carefully maintained vintage bass with subtle signs of age.

A one-piece quartersawn maple neck is paired with a flat-laminated rosewood fingerboard and shaped to a 1960 Precision Bass Oval “C” profile. The 9.5"–12" compound radius transitions from a rounder feel near the nut to a flatter surface higher on the neck, while 20 Jescar Vintage 45085 frets, a 34" scale, and 1.75" bone nut complete the playing setup.

The P/J electronics combine a Custom Shop Hand-Wound ’57 Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup with a Custom Shop Hand-Wound ’75 Single-Coil Jazz Bass bridge pickup. Postmodern P/J wiring incorporates a three-position blade switch for accessing different pickup and tone configurations.

An RSD Designed HiMass bridge anchors the strings, joined by vintage-style tuning machines, a vintage-style disc string tree, nickel/chrome hardware, and a four-ply Brown Shell pickguard. This USA-built Custom Shop bass includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap, and Certificate of Authenticity.
