The Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Ultra Light Aged in Southern Fade recreates the construction and details of the legendary ’59 Burst, finished with Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging for the character of a carefully played vintage example. Southern Fade brings a particularly warm take on the classic sunburst palette while allowing the figured maple top to remain front and center.

The body pairs a two-piece figured maple top with a one-piece lightweight mahogany back and no weight relief. The maple top is hide-glue fitted, while single-ply Royalite binding and Murphy Lab aged nitrocellulose lacquer keep the construction and presentation firmly rooted in Gibson’s Historic Reissue approach.

A solid mahogany neck uses a rounded 1950s Medium C profile with a long-tenon, hide-glue joint. The Indian rosewood fingerboard features a 12" radius, 22 Historic Medium-Jumbo frets, cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays, a nylon nut, and a 24.75" scale length.

A pair of unpotted Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers is wired through CTS 500K audio-taper potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors. A three-way Switchcraft toggle and traditional two-volume, two-tone layout complete the electronics.

An ABR-1 bridge, lightweight aluminum Stop Bar, Kluson Single Line/Single Ring tuners, and lightly aged nickel hardware complete the build. A Brown/Pink Lifton Reissue 5-Latch case, Certificate of Authenticity, Custom Shop switch plate medallion, and reissue switch backplate are included.
