While closely related to the iconic ’59 platform, the 1960 Reissue introduces several key distinctions. Most notably, it features the fast-playing 1960 SlimTaper neck profile, along with reflector control knobs and double-ring tuner tips—details that helped define original 1960 Bursts. Gibson Custom builds the model with historically accurate construction methods throughout, from hide-glue fitment to vintage-correct plastics and hardware.

Built from a 1-piece lightweight mahogany body topped with 2-piece figured maple, this platform delivers the balance of warmth, sustain, articulation, and dynamic response that made late-50s Les Pauls so influential. The slimmer neck carve gives the guitar a quicker, more immediate feel in the hands without losing the substantial character players expect from a great Historic Les Paul.
