This Gibson Custom Dealer Select 1959 Les Paul Standard pairs a handpicked AAA figured maple top selected by Tone Shop Guitars at the Gibson factory with a Golden Poppy finish, chambered construction, a Bigsby vibrato, and Ultra Light Aging. It is a distinctly Tone Shop take on the ’59 Les Paul formula, built around a few carefully chosen changes rather than reinventing the entire Historic recipe.

The handpicked figured maple top was chosen by our team for its figure and movement beneath the Golden Poppy finish. Beneath it is a chambered mahogany body, reducing weight while retaining the familiar maple-and-mahogany construction at the heart of a ’59 Les Paul.

Instead of the traditional stop bar, this Dealer Select build uses a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece for a different feel and unmistakable vintage look. Gibson Custom’s Ultra Light Aged treatment adds subtle checking, hardware aging, and played-in character without pushing the guitar into heavily distressed territory.

The solid mahogany neck uses Gibson Custom’s 50s Rounded Medium C profile with a long-tenon, hide-glue joint. An Indian rosewood fingerboard features a 12" radius, 22 Historic Medium-Jumbo frets, cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays, a nylon nut, and a 24.75" scale length.

A pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 humbuckers is paired with CTS 500K audio-taper potentiometers, paper-in-oil capacitors, and a three-way Switchcraft toggle. A Brown/Pink Reissue 5-Latch case and Certificate of Authenticity are included.
