This Gibson Custom Dealer Select 1959 Les Paul Standard pairs a handpicked AAA figured maple top selected by Tone Shop Guitars at the Gibson factory with a Tejas Burst finish, chambered construction, and Ultra Light Aging. It is a notably different take on the familiar ’59 Historic recipe without losing the visual and musical character that makes these guitars so sought after.

The handpicked AAA maple top was chosen by our team for its figure and movement beneath the Tejas Burst finish. Beneath it is a chambered mahogany body, giving this Les Paul a lighter, more open feel than a traditional solid-body Historic build while retaining the warmth and sustain expected from a mahogany-backed Les Paul.

Instead of a traditional stop bar, this Dealer Select build is fitted with a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece for a more expressive feel and unmistakable vintage look. The Ultra Light Aged treatment adds subtle played-in character across the finish and hardware without taking the guitar into heavily distressed territory.

The solid mahogany neck features Gibson Custom’s 50s Rounded Medium C profile, paired with a long tenon hide glue fit, nylon nut, and Indian rosewood fingerboard with cellulose nitrate trapezoid inlays. The 24.75" scale length, 12" fingerboard radius, and Historic Medium-Jumbo frets keep the feel rooted in the late-’50s Les Paul formula.

A pair of Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups delivers the open, dynamic PAF-style response that makes these Historic Reissues so compelling. CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers, paper-in-oil capacitors, and a 3-way Switchcraft toggle complete the vintage-correct electronics package.
