This Dealer Select 1960 Hummingbird was built by Gibson Custom using the exact specifications of the standard 1960 Hummingbird reissue, with one meaningful Tone Shop–requested change: the back and sides are upgraded to sinker mahogany. Everything else — from the thermally aged Sitka spruce top and traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing to the thin VOS nitro finish and period-correct appointments — remains true to the current Gibson Custom 1960 Hummingbird formula.

Sinker mahogany brings a deeper, more complex low end and an added sense of warmth and bloom compared to standard mahogany, while still keeping the clarity and balance that define a great Hummingbird. The thermally aged Sitka top responds quickly and openly, and the square-shoulder design delivers the classic strumming power this model is known for.
