This Dealer Select Explorer Custom was designed with the Gibson Custom Shop to bring a more refined, vintage-influenced feel to one of Gibson’s most iconic shapes. Our goal at Tone Shop Guitars was to create an Explorer that blends Custom-level appointments with the right amount of aging, attitude, and playability. The Heavy Antique Alpine White VOS finish gives it that soft, worn-in look—elegant, but still unmistakably rock-ready.

The maple neck features the big 1950s Chunky D carve, paired with an ebony fingerboard and block inlays for a classic Custom aesthetic. The mahogany body is built to Explorer Custom spec, weight-relieved per the sheet, and finished with 3 coats of antique to match vintage character. Under the hood, a 57 Classic in the neck and a 57 Classic Plus in the bridge deliver punch, clarity, and the smooth sustain players expect from a well-voiced Gibson Custom.
