This Gibson Custom J-185 is a Dealer Select build that takes the compact jumbo platform in a distinctive direction with an all-mahogany back and sides, Gold Top finish and VOS treatment. A Sitka spruce top provides the foundation, while the mahogany back and sides distinguish this build from the traditional maple construction associated with the J-185.

The mahogany neck uses a Slim Taper profile, short scale and 14th-fret neck joint. Its bound rosewood fingerboard has a 12" radius, 20 standard small-crown frets and mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. A 1.725" bone nut and mother-of-pearl Gibson block and crown headstock inlays complete the neck appointments.

A rosewood belly-up bridge features mother-of-pearl dot inlays and is paired with a bone saddle and TUSQ bridge pins. Gotoh nickel tuners, a cream J-185 pickguard and multi-ply cream body binding complement the Gold Top finish, while the VOS treatment gives the instrument a subtly aged presentation.

LR Baggs Element VTC electronics provide onboard amplification without disrupting the traditional acoustic layout. This custom J-185 is made in the USA and includes a Gibson Acoustic Custom certificate and J-185 Original hardshell case.
