Gibson Hummingbird Elegant Koa Left Handed Honey Burst w/case

The Gibson Custom Hummingbird Elegant Koa Left-Handed in Honey Burst brings an elevated level of craftsmanship and distinctive tonewoods to one of Gibson's most recognizable acoustic guitar designs. Part of the Gibson Custom Artisan Series, this left-handed acoustic-electric features an AAA Sitka spruce top paired with beautifully figured koa back and sides, creating a responsive acoustic voice with clear trebles, warm midrange, and rich harmonic detail. The gloss Honey Burst finish, abalone appointments, and intricately decorated Hummingbird pickguard give this instrument a refined appearance while preserving the familiar character of Gibson's classic square-shoulder dreadnought.

The AAA Sitka spruce top provides excellent projection, dynamic range, and clarity, making the Hummingbird Elegant Koa equally suited to expressive fingerstyle playing and full-bodied strumming. Koa back and sides contribute a bright, articulate response with a focused midrange and sparkling high frequencies. As koa matures through regular playing, its tonal character can develop additional warmth and complexity. A decorative three-rope marquetry back strip accents the natural grain of the koa, while the traditional Hummingbird body shape delivers the powerful, balanced acoustic response that has made the model a favorite since its introduction in 1960.

The mahogany neck features Gibson's comfortable Round profile and a traditional dovetail neck joint. Its bound rosewood fingerboard has a 12" radius, 20 standard frets, and elaborate abalone split-parallelogram inlays, combining smooth playability with the elevated appointments of the Artisan Series. The 24.75" scale length provides the familiar, slightly softer string tension associated with Gibson acoustic guitars. A TUSQ nut supports consistent string response, while the headstock features an abalone Gibson logo and crown inlay. Gold-plated Grover Rotomatic tuning machines complete the instrument's premium hardware package.

The Hummingbird Elegant Koa features a distinctive interpretation of the model's iconic pickguard artwork. Traditional hummingbird, butterfly, and floral imagery is presented against a tortoiseshell-colored background, with gold and silver foil accents that create an iridescent appearance as the instrument moves under changing light. Single-ply binding outlines the top and back, while the rosewood belly-up bridge features abalone dot inlays. A TUSQ saddle and bridge pins provide dependable string contact and complement the instrument's traditional construction.

For amplified performance, the Hummingbird Elegant Koa is equipped with an L.R. Baggs VTC pickup system installed at the factory. The system combines an under-saddle Element pickup with an internal preamp designed to reproduce the guitar's natural acoustic character. Discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls allow convenient adjustments without altering the instrument's appearance. Finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer and supplied with a Gibson Custom hardshell case, this left-handed Hummingbird Elegant Koa Honey Burst combines premium acoustic construction, detailed craftsmanship, and reliable electronics for the stage and studio.
