The Gretsch USA Custom Shop G6134 1959 Penguin Relic brings one of Gretsch’s most distinctive designs into a custom Western Red finish with the broken-in character and detail work expected from a true Custom Shop build. Masterbuilt by Gonzalo Madrigal in the Gretsch Custom Shop, this Penguin pairs deluxe appointments with the snap, sparkle, and punch that define the “Great Gretsch Sound.”

Built with a chambered mahogany body and laminated maple top, this 1959 Penguin delivers a great balance of warmth, resonance, and clarity. The chambered construction keeps the guitar lively in the hands, while the maple top adds focus and attack. The Western Red Relic finish gives the guitar a bold custom look while still feeling grounded in vintage Gretsch character.

The mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard offer a smooth, refined playing surface, complete with Neo-Classical Thumbnail inlays for classic Gretsch style. Gold hardware, Grover Imperial Stairstep tuners, jeweled arrow knobs, a gold Penguin-engraved pickguard, Space Control roller bridge, and Bigsby B7 tailpiece complete the deluxe visual package.

Loaded with TV Jones Filter’Tron pickups, this Penguin delivers the vintage-inspired Gretsch voice players chase: clear top end, tight low end, and enough punch to handle everything from clean rhythm work to driven rock tones.
