Yes, it’s built for speed, precision, and explosive performance, but this is no throwback. The Volante Quilt HHFR is a modern instrument built for today’s players—engineered to handle heavier genres, fast riffs, and fluid leads across a wide range of musical styles.

The Italian word "Volante” translates to “flying” or “light,” a fitting name for a guitar that embodies speed, agility, and effortless motion. It features a lightweight alder body topped with a stunning AAAA quilt maple veneer, plus comfort-focused forearm and body carves.

The satin-finished, 3-piece maple neck is bolted to the body with five bolts and ferrules and includes a sculpted heel for easy upper fret access. Kramer’s new Key Lock System, developed by Senior Product Engineer Richard Akers, adds exceptional neck stability and improves sustain, intonation, and vibrational transfer—especially when paired with the five-bolt neck joint.

The thermally aged neck features Kramer’s fast-playing Elliptical “C” profile and a sleek ebony fretboard with 24 jumbo frets, mother-of-pearl diamond inlays, and a 10"–14" compound radius. The truss rod adjustment is a spoke-wheel style at the heel, making quick tweaks a breeze. With a 25.5” scale length, it’s ideal for drop tunings. A Floyd Rose® R3 locking nut and 1000 Series tremolo keep your tuning rock-solid no matter how aggressive you get with the vibrato bar.

Under the hood, the Volante Quilt HHFR is loaded with a pair of USA-made Kramer Neptune™ Humbuckers and wired for maximum tonal versatility. A 5-way selector switch gives you:

1. Bridge humbucker (series)

2. Bridge and neck in single-coil mode (slug coil + screw coil)

3. Both pickups as full humbuckers (series)

4. Neck pickup in parallel humbucker mode

5. Neck pickup in series humbucker mode

All positions are hum-canceling, offering quiet operation with a wide tonal palette—from searing leads to articulate cleans.
