Sometimes you have to go to the source. This pickup is based on the Les Paul that guitarist James Williamson used on the Stooges' 1973 classic release Raw Power. A musical touchstone, the album is widely considered a major influence in the creation of punk rock. In 2009, on the eve of a reunion tour for Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Williamson left the Les Paul he used on Raw Power at the Lollar shop for several weeks so our team could study it. We took the pickups apart to undercover its secrets, and with Williamson's permission, created duplicates of the original pickup set, which are late 1960s Gibson T Tops. Now you can grab some raw power for yourself. Made with Alnico 5 magnets, it features double black bobbins and no cover. Single conductor braided shield lead wire.
