LR Baggs HiFi DNA

The LR Baggs HiFi DNA is an advanced bridge plate pickup system for steel-string and 12-string acoustic guitars, building on the low-profile installation and feedback resistance of the HiFi platform. The DNA version uses lighter, more flexible sensors with increased sensitivity to capture more of the instrument’s natural dynamic range and acoustic response.

A key part of the HiFi DNA design is its split signal processing. Rather than feeding both sensors into a single preamp input, the High and Low sensors each use a separate studio-grade preamp circuit before their signals are combined. This allows each half of the pickup system to be processed independently for more precise tonal shaping.

The preamp uses a high-grade FET input and an all-discrete signal path, with straightforward Volume and Tone controls for onboard adjustment. Power comes from a standard 9V battery, with LR Baggs specifying more than 700 hours of battery life.

Installation uses a peel-and-stick mounting system, and an installation jig is included to assist with sensor placement. The HiFi DNA is designed for steel-string and 12-string acoustic guitars and is not recommended for nylon-string instruments.
