Magnatone Super Fifty-Nine M-80 45w 2x12 Tube Combo Amp Slash Purple Python

The Magnatone Super Fifty-Nine M-80 Purple Python combines two of the company’s gain structures in a single footswitchable 45-watt tube amplifier. Its MKII setting provides the lower-to-medium-gain side of the circuit, while the MKI setting adds gain and saturation, allowing the two voices to be selected from the front panel or included one-button footswitch.

The power section uses a pair of EL34 tubes in a push-pull Class AB design, joined by four 12AX7 preamp tubes. Treble, middle, bass, master and presence controls form the British-voiced tone stack, while a tube-buffered effects loop provides dedicated send and return connections for integrating pedals and external effects.

This 2x12 combo is loaded with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. The amplifier also provides selectable 8- and 4-ohm impedance settings and a backlit Magnatone logo.

The Purple Python treatment was designed in collaboration with Slash, combining black-and-purple snakeskin covering, gold piping, black matrix grille cloth and Slash’s Skully emblem on the gold-anodized faceplate. Each amplifier is handbuilt in St. Louis and includes curated picks and stickers.
