About This Guitar

Serial: 2012623

Built as a meticulous recreation of a pre-war 000-42, the Martin 000-42 Authentic 1939 combines an Adirondack spruce VTS top with Madagascar rosewood back and sides, hide-glue construction, and period-inspired appointments throughout.

Both the Adirondack spruce top and bracing utilize Martin’s Vintage Tone System, paired with an Authentic 1939 rearward-shifted scalloped X-brace pattern. The 000-14 fret body and short 24.9" scale give the guitar a comfortable feel, while the Madagascar rosewood body brings the depth and complexity expected from a Style 42 Martin.

The genuine mahogany neck features Martin’s Authentic 1939 profile and Standard Taper, joined to the body with a traditional dovetail neck joint and hide glue. An ebony fingerboard with Authentic 1939 Style 42 abalone snowflake inlays, a 1-11/16" bone nut, and grained ivoroid binding complete the neck.

Style 42 appointments include abalone top purfling and rosette, grained ivoroid binding, a Style 45 Golden Era backstrip, and a Madagascar rosewood headplate with an Old Style script logo. An ebony Authentic Belly bridge with a glue-in long bone saddle and nickel enclosed-gear tuners round out the vintage-inspired build.

This 2016 example is offered as B-Stock and includes the full Martin warranty. A hardshell case is included.
