To celebrate Chris Martin IV’s 70th birthday and the Martin legacy, Martin presents the 000-18 1955 CFM IV 70th Anniversary. Inspired by a historic 1955 000-18 recently acquired at auction, this ultra-limited edition (just 70 made!) brings the spirit of the American folk boom and mid-century Martin craftsmanship into the hands of modern players and collectors.

The 000 body, with gloss-finished mahogany back and sides, delivers classic warmth, punchy midrange, and brilliant treble response. The top is made from reclaimed spruce—sustainably sourced from Alaskan old-growth trees, including wind-felled timber, salvaged logs, and dismantled log bridges. It’s a Martin first, offering both environmental responsibility and a unique tonal signature. The top’s printed finish artfully recreates the worn look of the original 1955 model.

Inside, non-scalloped Sitka spruce X-bracing provides a precise, focused sound with clarity and vintage control. The satin select hardwood neck with Golden Era Modified Low Oval profile offers silky playability, while the FSC®-certified rosewood fingerboard and bridge enhance both looks and sustainability.

Vintage-style Kluson® Waffleback® tuners and a faux tortoise pickguard complete the authentic mid-century vibe. Each guitar includes a hand-signed label by Chris Martin IV and comes in a hardshell case—making it a true piece of Martin history.
