The Martin Custom Shop 000-28K 1921 recreates the character of an early all-koa Martin with highly figured koa throughout the body, period-inspired construction, and a spacious 12-fret design. Available exclusively through Martin Custom Shop Expert dealers, it blends one of Martin’s most distinctive historic configurations with modern Custom Shop execution.

The 000 12-fret body uses highly figured koa for the top, back, and sides, finished in a thin Vintage Gloss that lets the natural figure remain the focus. Grained ivoroid binding, fine herringbone top inlay, and a faux tortoise pickguard installed beneath the finish reinforce the early-Martin aesthetic.

Traditional hide glue construction is paired with VTS-treated Authentic scalloped Adirondack spruce X-bracing. The combination is designed to bring vintage-inspired responsiveness to the all-koa body while preserving the long 25.4" scale associated with the OM/000 family.

A genuine mahogany neck uses Martin’s Authentic 1921 profile and joins the body at the 12th fret. The ebony fingerboard carries Golden Era Diamond & Square short-pattern inlays, while the unusually wide 1 7/8" nut gives the guitar a distinctly traditional feel.

A slotted headstock with Golden Age bright nickel side-mount tuners, ebony pyramid bridge, bone saddle, and hardshell case complete the package.
