This Martin Custom Shop 18 Style Dreadnought pairs an Adirondack spruce top with a Tone Shop-selected set of quilted mahogany back and sides. It keeps the familiar simplicity of Style 18 while giving the guitar a much more distinctive visual identity through the highly figured mahogany.

The Adirondack spruce top is supported by forward-shifted, scalloped 5/16" Golden Era X-bracing, also made from Adirondack spruce and hand-shaped by Martin. Brown faux tortoise binding, an Old Style 18 rosette, faux tortoise pickguard, and Aging Toner keep the presentation traditional and understated.

The premium quilted mahogany back and sides were selected by Tone Shop Guitars and bring dramatic figure to a wood typically associated with a much more restrained appearance. The select hardwood neck uses a Modified V profile with High Performance Taper and a 25.4" scale length.

A black ebony fingerboard features a 16" radius, 1 3/4" bone nut, 2 5/32" string spacing, and long Diamonds and Squares inlays in select abalone. A black ebony headplate with Martin’s Golden Era decal completes the neck presentation.

A black ebony GE Modern Belly bridge, compensated bone saddle, ebony bridge pins, and Grover nickel Sta-Tite 18:1 tuners complete the build. A Martin 5-ply hardshell case and Custom Shop Credentials Book are included.
