This Martin Custom Shop dreadnought was handpicked and designed by Tone Shop Guitars in collaboration with the Martin Custom Shop, built around an Adirondack spruce top and a seriously striking set of Cocobolo back and sides. It takes a classic Martin dreadnought foundation and pushes it into custom territory with premium tonewoods, Golden Era-inspired bracing, and elevated 45-style details.

The Cocobolo is the star of this build. Visually, the back and sides are bold, dramatic, and highly figured, giving this guitar a presence that immediately separates it from a standard rosewood dreadnought. Sonically, Cocobolo is known for power, clarity, and a rich overtone profile, making it a strong match for the headroom and dynamic response of an Adirondack spruce top.

Under the hood, the top is braced with Adirondack spruce in a forward-shifted X-brace pattern, with scalloped Golden Era hand-shaped bracing. That combination gives the guitar a more open, responsive feel with plenty of projection, low-end strength, and room for a heavy right hand.

The neck features a GE Modified Low Oval profile with High Performance Taper, a 1 3/4" nut width, and a black ebony fingerboard with Style 45 Hexagon inlays. The 25.4" scale length, 16" fingerboard radius, and 2 5/32" string spacing give it a familiar modern Martin feel with enough room for flatpicking, strumming, and more detailed right-hand work.

Appointments include antique white binding, herringbone top inlay, Style 45 Boltaron rosette with select abalone, a Cocobolo headplate with CFM block inlay, faux tortoise pickguard, Grover nickel StaTite tuners with vintage buttons, and a 5-ply hardshell case.
