Designed by Tone Shop Guitars with the Martin Custom Shop, this 28 Style OM pairs an Adirondack spruce top with a Pacific Big Leaf flamed maple back and sides set selected by our team. The combination, wrapped in a 1933 Ambertone finish, gives this build a distinctly different direction from a traditional rosewood Style 28 while keeping the familiar OM foundation intact.The 14-fret OM body uses Adirondack spruce for both the top and top bracing, with 1/4" Golden Era scalloped X-bracing that is hand-shaped by Martin. Traditional Style 28 details include herringbone top trim, a Style 28 rosette, antique white binding, and a faux tortoise pickguard. 

A two-piece flamed maple neck continues the custom wood theme and uses Martin’s GE Modified Low Oval profile with High Performance Taper. The 25.4" scale is paired with a black ebony fingerboard, 1 3/4" bone nut, 16" radius, and 2 5/32" string spacing. Long Diamonds and Squares inlays in select abalone add a traditional Martin detail without overpowering the maple-heavy design. 

The black ebony headplate carries an abalone C.F. Martin block inlay, while the ebony GE Modern Belly bridge uses a compensated bone saddle and bone pins with faux tortoise accents. Grover nickel StaTite 18:1 tuners with vintage-style buttons complete the hardware package. 

A gloss body, satin neck, polished headplate, and 5-ply hardshell case finish off a custom OM that was designed around one of the most visually distinctive maple sets we selected for this Martin Custom Shop run.
