This Martin Custom Shop 42 Style Super D was built around a Tone Shop-selected set of Wild Grain East Indian rosewood, paired with a premium Adirondack spruce top and Martin’s larger Super Dreadnought body. It combines the scale and presence of the Super D platform with elaborate Style 42 appointments and a particularly dramatic set of rosewood.

The Adirondack spruce top is supported by scalloped 5/16" Golden Era X-bracing, also made from Adirondack spruce and hand-shaped by Martin. Select abalone follows the top perimeter and fingerboard profile, while a Style 45 select abalone rosette and antique white binding give the guitar its elevated Custom Shop presentation.

Wild Grain East Indian rosewood is used for the back and sides and continues onto the bound headplate. Style 45 mosaic back purfling adds another traditional detail, while Aging Toner over the Adirondack top keeps the overall appearance rooted in classic Martin design.

The genuine mahogany neck uses Martin’s GE Modified Low Oval profile with High Performance Taper and a 25.4" scale length. A bound black ebony fingerboard features a 16" radius, 1 3/4" bone nut, 2 5/32" string spacing, and long Style 45 Snowflake inlays in select abalone. The Wild Grain East Indian rosewood headplate carries a select abalone C.F. Martin block inlay.

A black ebony GE Modern Belly bridge, compensated bone saddle, bone bridge pins with paua accents, and gold Grover Sta-Tite 18:1 tuners complete the build. A Martin domed-top hardshell case and Custom Shop Credentials Book are included.
