Martin Custom Shop 42 Style Torch Motif Adirondack/Master Grade Quilt Maple w/case 3090368

Serial: 3090368

This Martin Custom Shop 42 Style Dreadnought was built around a Tone Shop-selected set of master-grade deep quilt maple, paired with a premium Adirondack spruce top and some of the most distinctive inlay work we’ve seen on a Martin custom. The build combines dramatic figured maple with Style 42 pearl appointments and an Alternate Torch motif carried across the headplate, fingerboard, and bridge.

The Adirondack spruce top is supported by forward-shifted, scalloped 5/16" Golden Era X-bracing made from Adirondack spruce and hand-shaped by Martin. Select abalone runs around the top perimeter and follows the fingerboard profile, while a Style 45 select abalone rosette adds another layer of detail.

The back and sides use a Tone Shop-selected set of deeply quilted maple, with Style 45 mosaic back purfling and antique white binding. A matching Pacific Big Leaf quilted maple headplate carries the Alternate Torch inlay in select abalone, tying the wood selection and decorative theme together.

The genuine mahogany neck uses Martin’s GE Modified Low Oval profile with High Performance Taper and a 25.4" scale length. A bound black ebony fingerboard features a 16" radius, 1 3/4" bone nut, 2 5/32" string spacing, and the Alternate Torch motif in select abalone.

A black ebony GE Modern Belly bridge continues the Alternate Torch theme with its own select abalone inlay. A compensated bone saddle, bone bridge pins with paua accents, gold Grover Sta-Tite 18:1 tuners, and full gloss body and neck finish complete the build. A Martin 5-ply hardshell case and Custom Shop Credentials Book are included.
