About This Guitar

This Martin Custom Shop 45 Style Dreadnought combines an Adirondack spruce top with premium Madagascar rosewood back and sides, then adds a particularly distinctive set of Style 45 appointments led by highly flamed koa binding and an Alternate Torch headstock inlay. It keeps the traditional dreadnought platform intact while giving the build a noticeably different visual identity from a standard Style 45.

The Adirondack spruce top is supported by forward-shifted, scalloped 5/16" Golden Era X-bracing, also made from Adirondack spruce and hand-shaped by Martin. The top receives Aging Toner, while extensive select abalone pearl runs around the body perimeter and Style 45 rosette.

The genuine mahogany neck uses Martin’s GE Modified Low Oval profile with Standard Taper and a 25.4" scale length. A black ebony fingerboard has a 16" radius, 1 11/16" bone nut, 2 1/8" string spacing, and traditional Style 45 hexagon inlays in select abalone.

The Madagascar rosewood headplate is bound and carries the Alternate Torch inlay in select abalone, one of the defining details of this build. Highly flamed koa continues across the body binding and heel cap, adding a warm contrast against the rosewood and pearl appointments.

A black ebony GE Modern Belly bridge, compensated bone saddle, bone bridge pins with paua accents, and gold Waverly tuners with engraved buttons complete the build. A Martin 5-ply hardshell case and Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity are included.
