Designed by Tone Shop Guitars with the Martin Custom Shop, this 45 Style OM takes one of Martin’s most ornate acoustic formats and completely changes its character with an all-black gloss body and neck. The blacked-out presentation creates a dramatic backdrop for extensive Style 45 abalone work and a Continuous Tree of Life inlay that runs across the fingerboard and headstock.

Underneath the finish is a premium spruce top paired with East Indian rosewood back and sides. The top uses hand-shaped 1/4" Golden Era scalloped X-bracing, while select abalone runs around the top perimeter, follows the fingerboard profile, and continues across the back, sides, endpiece, and Style 45 rosette.

The genuine mahogany neck is finished in gloss black and uses Martin’s GE Modified Low Oval profile with High Performance Taper. A bound black ebony fingerboard features a 16" radius, 1 3/4" bone nut, 2 5/32" string spacing, and the defining Continuous Tree of Life inlay in select abalone.

The bound black ebony headplate continues the Tree of Life motif and incorporates a select abalone C.F. Martin script logo. Against the solid black finish, the abalone work becomes the centerpiece of the entire design.

A black ebony GE Modern Belly bridge, compensated bone saddle, bone bridge pins with paua accents, and engraved gold Waverly tuners complete the build. A Martin 5-ply hardshell case and Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity are included.
