The Martin D-28 Sunburst brings one of the most recognizable acoustic guitar designs into the refreshed 2025 Standard Series, combining traditional tonewoods, vintage-inspired bracing, and updated playability. Built with a solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, this Dreadnought delivers the powerful projection, defined bass, clear trebles, and rich harmonic complexity that have made the D-28 a benchmark for acoustic guitars. The gloss 1935 Sunburst top, antique white binding, and classic Style 28 appointments give this instrument a distinctive vintage appearance while preserving the familiar character of Martin's flagship Dreadnought design.

The D-14 Fret body features a solid spruce top supported by forward-shifted Golden Era scalloped X-bracing. Part of Martin's 2025 Standard Series updates, this bracing design incorporates Sitka spruce Golden Era-style top braces inspired by the Modern Deluxe Series. The forward-shifted pattern allows the soundboard to respond freely, producing strong low-end presence, open resonance, and excellent dynamic range. Solid East Indian rosewood back and sides complement the spruce top with deep bass response, clear trebles, and complex overtones. The traditional dovetail neck joint further connects the instrument to Martin's longstanding acoustic construction methods.

The select hardwood neck features Martin's updated Golden Era Modified Low Oval profile with a High-Performance Taper, offering a comfortable balance between traditional neck feel and modern playability. Its satin finish allows smooth movement along the neck, while the 25.4" scale length provides the familiar tension and response associated with a full-size Martin Dreadnought. The ebony fingerboard features a 1 3/4" nut width, 20 frets, and mother-of-pearl Style 28 inlays. A refined neck heel and thinner fingerboard, introduced as part of the 2025 Standard Series refresh, further improve comfort and playing feel.

Traditional appointments include antique white body binding, a Style 28 multi-stripe rosette, faux tortoise pickguard, and multi-stripe top purfling. The ebony Golden Era Modern Belly bridge features a compensated bone saddle, bone bridge pins with faux tortoise dots, and 2 5/32" string spacing. Nickel open-gear tuning machines with butterbean knobs provide classic styling and precise tuning adjustment, while the East Indian rosewood headplate features Martin's old-style script logo.

Finished with a gloss 1935 Sunburst top and natural gloss East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D-28 Sunburst balances vintage-inspired aesthetics with the refinements of Martin's updated Standard Series. Its powerful Dreadnought voice is equally suited to flatpicking, strumming, and fingerstyle playing, making it a versatile choice for recording, performance, and everyday use. A molded hardshell case is included for protection during storage and transport.
