Built as a painstaking recreation of one of the most celebrated pre-war dreadnoughts, this 2016 D-28 Authentic 1937 combines a VTS-treated Adirondack spruce top with Madagascar rosewood back and sides and historically inspired Authentic Series construction.

This guitar is offered as B-Stock due to a binding repair completed by Martin. The repair is visible in the binding near the neck joint on the back of the body, and the purfling has a rough texture in the area of the repair. Please review the photos closely for condition.

This guitar comes with Martin’s full Limited Lifetime Warranty.

The Adirondack spruce top and braces both receive Martin’s Vintage Tone System treatment, paired with forward-shifted, scalloped 5/16" X-bracing modeled after the 1937 design. Hide-glue construction and a traditional dovetail neck joint further distinguish the Authentic Series build.

The genuine mahogany neck features Martin’s Authentic 1937 profile and Standard Taper, paired with a 1-3/4" bone nut, 25.4" scale length, and ebony fingerboard with the period-inspired 1937 Diamonds and Squares Long Pattern inlays.

Classic Style 28 appointments include bold herringbone top inlay, grained ivoroid binding, a zig-zag backstrip, ebony Authentic Belly bridge with a glue-in long bone saddle, and Waverly nickel open-back tuners.

A hardshell case is included.
