Martin DSS-16E Black Smoke w/softshell case

The DSS-16E Black Smoke combines Martin’s sloped-shoulder Dreadnought body with a short 24.9" scale, giving this refreshed 16 Series model a distinct feel within Martin’s Dreadnought lineup. Its spruce top is finished in gloss Black Smoke, contrasted by solid mahogany back and sides with a satin finish.

Under the top, forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing supports the large-body design. The select hardwood neck uses Martin’s Modified Low Oval profile with a satin finish, while the ebony fingerboard has a 1 3/4" nut width, 20 frets and understated 1955 Style 18 inlays.

The dark Black Smoke top is set off by a grained ivoroid pickguard, while an ebony bridge, TUSQ saddle and nickel open-gear tuning machines complete the traditional hardware package.

L.R. Baggs Element electronics provide straightforward amplification for live use. Martin also includes a softshell case and equips the guitar from the factory with Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 Light strings.
